I love chicken livers with onions but the onions have to be cooked down. :)

I never do it with regular onion, regular onion should be cooked.

This is the beauty of the sweet onion, when combine with fried meats, it compliments really fine.
It is very common practice in the South of Europe to add them fresh to grilled meats of fast-fried. Try it, believe me you will like it.

I was born in the former Yugoslavia (we're Romanian) and my parents used to enjoy onions like that but I could never get into it. :)

You are from the region with one of the best food traditions. I am from Eastern Ukraine, but I lived in several places over last 40 yrs.I can tell you for sure: former Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, Ukraine - those are "food heavens"
