Moroccan Meatball Recipe?

Apr 13, 2014 21:13

Many years ago I had a truly exceptional Shabbat dinner with a Moroccan family. One of the dishes served was a savory meatball dish. This is what I know. The meat was a mixture of ground lamb and beef. The main spice was mace, and there were green peas in the gravy and it was served over couscous.

Does anyone have any ideas for a recipe?

meat: lamb, meal: dinner, herbs and spices, meat: beef, !general questions

these recipes seem to be more cinnamon and cardamom based. They definitely were not a tagine style but thank you!

No, this look a bit more like a stew with meatballs. The one I am looking for had a brown sauce and no veggies other than peas.

Thanks! I actually haven't tried it yet. I am kind of a recipe admirer sometimes.

Also try searching the term "kefta" (Moroccan meatballs made from ground beef and/or lamb--a popular dish in halal as well as kosher cuisine) as a possible point of departure,
