Copycat help, please!

I've been using Kraft's Fresh Take products recently and they are a HUGE hit in my family.  If you've not used them, they are a combination of seasoned bread crumbs and cheese - each is in a separate pouch and you mix them together when you are ready to use them ( Read more... )

Never used them but was curious. This came up with a quick Google search http://www.livingrichwithcoupons.com/2012/05/diy-kraft-fresh-take-recipe.html. Sounds simple enough.

I often freeze a combo of parmesan and the leftover breadcrumbs that accumulate in my house - I food process a tidge too old crackers, croutons or bread ends and leftover homemade herb bread bits - oh, and sometimes even walnuts. If you don't have seasoned crackers/bread, you can just add chopped fresh herbs to the mix. You might be able to add garlic in, too. Then I take it out, add pepper or salt if needed (the parmesan is salty and you could just add that to the mix before freezing, too) dip the chicken breasts in milk, cream, buttermilk or egg and then the crumbs.

Up
