Frozen Belgian style fries

I love eating homemade fries but they're so much effort to go to. So now I've started freezing them after the first fry so I can just grab a handful and heat them up whenever I want ( Read more... )

I love fries so much... but I don't love the calories they bring with them :( and if you freeze them and fry them again there's twice more oil on them... :(

Actually as long as you keep the temperature up, the food doesn't absorb much at all. Just pat the excess off with a paper towel afterwards and you're good to go!

Of course, you could also oven bake these, I see no reason why it wouldn't work. :)

I haven't had these in a loooong time; thanks for reminding me.

And for the new "fryer", remember that as long as you keep your temp up, where it belongs, the oil absorption is at a minimum.

No problem!

And amen on the oil thing, I love my deep fryer for making sure the temp stays nice and high. When we do have fried food it almost always comes out crisp and with barely any oil at all, it's great.
