Hello, I'm new to the community. Tomorrow night I am making meatball subs for dinner and I need to come up with some kind of side dish. Any suggestions?

I always like oven fries with a good sandwich. Slice your potatoes into wedges. Toss them with a little olive oil and any other seasoning you like. Since you are doing meatball sub I would do basil and oregano. Bake at 400-425 for 30 to 40 mins.

A place I used to go to eat used to serve fries sprinkled with parm cheese and sauce on the side. It's so good. You might want to try that instead of your regular fry dip.

with something heavy like that i'd just do a simple salad. Mixed leaves, red onion, balsamic etc

having said that, i'm in australia and we don't do a salad 'course'. We pair the salad to the dish and eat it together, but perhaps that's not your thing?

I'm from America, ( Texas to be exact ) and we are pretty informal as well. Maybe with a few black olives thrown in. Yumm. Yep, Salad sounds perfect. I think that might be the winner. Thank you.

that is one of my favorite summer salads, especially with a picnic or seafood. I know it's not traditional but I like adding cucumber and a vinaigrette to mine.

That sauce looks great!
Definitely salad, with that. You've got the carbs, you've got the meat, you've got the sauce, you just need something green.

That was my thought too. And yep I think a simple green salad with a vinaigrette to cut through the rich sauce and cheese from the sub is the way to go.

Thank you everyone for all the great suggestions. :D It all sounds wonderful.
