Here in England it was the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebration last weekend, and as my husband and I were invited to a Jubilee party, I figured I'd better jump on the bandwagon and bake something British! I figured everyone would've eaten their own body weights in Victoria sponge cakes, so I went with another quintessentially British flavour:

Also, while my knowledge of UK English is pretty extensive, I just want to double check that castor sugar is what we would call granulated sugar here in the US (at least it looks like granulated sugar in the photo).

As for caster sugar, I believe it's called 'superfine' sugar in the US. Hope that helps! :)
