Ooh. I grew up around Indian food but I've always been a bit intimidated by it. This looks simple enough that I'll definitely bookmark it to try!

Gorgeous post and dish. I love the pictures of the different steps. You make it seem like something many people could manage. Since I'm only one person, I probably wouldn't take the time to make this at home since I'd be eating it for ever. Luckily there are a few good Indian restaurants around with reasonable prices. :)

Thank you so much! I'm really happy that you enjoyed the post.
Yes, I can understand :) I probably wouldn't make it at home if I had it easily accessible from the restaurants.
This time I also made too much for the four of us, so I'm freezing some for later. Let's see whether it survives that:)

I love dal, especially dal makhni. Lately i've also been super addicted to mushroom mutter. Thanks for posting!

I like mushroom mutter very much too. It is something I yet have to learn to make :)

Thank you for sharing! I've never bought a pressure cooker because I have bad memories of my dad's rabbit stew dripping from the ceiling. But I would love to try this in my slow cooker. And thank you for the picture of the urad dal. I'll have to look for it at my grocery store.

my favorite dish is palak paneer (spinach and cubed paneer). there are a couple of ladies in my area that do videos on youtube and I used their recipe. I thought it was very easy except for frying the paneer, which kept popping and splattering oil.

Oh, I see :) so they really explode from time to time...
I don't mind long cooking times - I just leave these dishes for the days I spend at home. I even enjoy this stand by mode cooking alongside doing other things.

Thank you so much for referencing the palak paneer recipe. It is one of my favorites too. There are many ways to cook it though and I was struggling to figure out which one would be similar to what I like. The one in that picture looks like I will really like it. Will try it definitely.
