My friend "gifted" us with a ton of navy beans. I say "gifted" because it was more along the lines of "he had no idea what to do with them, so gave them to me, 'the cook'". If you really have a lot; more than you and your friends can use, take them to the Food Bank. They will bag them and hand them out.

Sometimes, when I see such items at the Discount Store where they have items that are at or near pull dates, I buy and deliver to the Food Bank. Feels good! :o)
