- put about a pound and a half of extra-lean ground beed in a pan, cook until nearly done. transfer to a slow cooker or crockpot - chop 3 coloured sweet peppers, 1 cubanelle pepper, 1 red onion, 2 carrots, 2 celery stalks, 3 cloves garlic, and 1/2 a zucchini. add to crockpot - add 2 jars tomato sauce (plain is fine), 1 can tomato paste, and 1 can whole plum tomatoes - turn heat to low and simmer for at least 5 or 6 hours. i love serving this over a bed of wild rice :)
