slow cooker not plugged in

I just realized that the ribs I thought i put in the slow cooker around 9am....haven't been cooking. The slow cooker wasn't plugged in. They've been sitting in a room-temperature slow cooker for 6 hours. I just turned the cooker on high in hopes that they might be done in three hours? Are these going to be safe to eat? Were they frozen? If they were not frozen, I would say they are not safe to eat... but that is just me. Maybe if you cook it for a long time, it may be ok..

If it were in a restaurant, they would get tossed. Meat at room temperature that long isn't safe.

I'm not food safety paranoid, but 6 hours at room temperature (especially during summer unless you're in the southern hemisphere) is too long for safety.

I really wouldn't. I know ribs are expensive cuts of meat, but it's not worth it.
