slow cooker not plugged in

I just realized that the ribs I thought i put in the slow cooker around 9am....haven't been cooking. The slow cooker wasn't plugged in. They've been sitting in a room-temperature slow cooker for 6 hours. I just turned the cooker on high in hopes that they might be done in three hours? Are these going to be safe to eat? I have chicken as a back

Were they frozen? If they were not frozen, I would say they are not safe to eat... but that is just me. Maybe if you cook it for a long time, it may be ok..

If it were in a restaurant, they would get tossed. Meat at room temperature that long isn't safe.

I'm not food safety paranoid, but 6 hours at room temperature (especially during summer unless you're in the southern hemisphere) is too long for safety.

I really wouldn't. I know ribs are expensive cuts of meat, but it's not worth it.
