Things to do with plums?

Aug 03, 2011 15:26

My plum tree is finally ripening, so I have a ton of plums. They are small, round, red, and very sweet. I also have oblong small purple plums ripening as well (I think these are prune plums?) Give me good recipes or ideas on what to do with my plums (plum jam? plum compote? plum tarts? plum fruit leather?) Thanks!

fruit: plum

Had this problem last year. Made a huge dish of pork with plum and ginger. I browned the pork in a pan, covered it with plums which I'd cooked up with some sugar and ginger and chilli, and poured it over the top before baking until it was all bubbly ( ... )

Thanks to my sister's tree, I have a similar problem, and plans for plum chutney.

Does anyone know a recipe for the plum sauce that goes with Chinese duck?

Plums make for a great upside down cake, which uses up quite a bit of them. This recipe is actually for apricots, but plums would exchange into this recipe perfectly.
