Why vanilla in the cupcake?

As I mention in the note, the cupcakes are biscuity, but have a sweetness to them. Kind of like sweet cornbread, if you've ever had it. So while they're savory overall, they do have sugar and vanilla in them.

The original recipe is Jim N' Nicks cheddar biscuits, if you've ever had them.
