Go check out the memories section of what_a_crock. They have their recipies categorized by types. I'm sure there's a meat section.

I love to rub my chuck roast down with chili powder, montreal steak seasoning, parsley flakes, garlic powder, and a little dash of sugar and salt. I then put wedged new potatoes and baby carrots in on top so they can absorb all the juices. I let it cook allll day. :)

There's a great crock pot community on LJ, it's what_a_crock recipes posted often. Don't have a roast recipe for you, but thought you might enjoy the other community as well.

There are a zillion crock pot recipes to be found here, varying from awful to fabulous. The main thing is, there are a LOT of them.

This one, from that site, is my favorite crock pot recipe. It's really, really delicious:

Crock Pot Chicken & Artichoke Casserole

3 pounds Broiler-fryer, cut up
Salt, to taste
1/2 teaspoon White pepper
1/2 teaspoon Paprika
1 tablespoon Butter, or margarine
1/2 cup Rich chicken broth
3 tablespoons Sherry
1/2 teaspoon Dried tarragon
1 can Mushrooms
2 tablespoons (heaping) quick cooking, tapioca
2 Jars marinated artichoke, hearts; reserve marinade

Wash chicken. Pat dry with paper towels. Season with salt, white pepper, and paprika. Using a large frying pan, brown chicken in butter and reserved marinade. Place mushrooms and artichoke hearts in bottom of Crock Pot. Sprinkle with tapioca. Add the browned chicken pieces. Pour in broth and sherry. Add tarragon. Cover Crock Pot and turn to LOW heat setting. Cook for 7 to 8 hours., or cook on HIGH for 5 hours.

tapioca? is it just for texture or do the balls keep their shape?

It's tapioca that comes in a box, sort of granular -- NOT pearl tapioca. It gives body to the juices/sauce.
