This was mild, lacking a little with depth/complexity of flavor, but otherwise we liked it. Extremely quick to put together and allowed me to use up part of the extra salsa we have on hand. Served with shredded cheese, sour cream and mini corn tortilla chips.

2 pounds ground beef
1/2 sweet onion, chopped
1 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1 (29 oz) can tomato sauce
1 cup mild, chunky salsa
1 (1.25 oz) packet chili seasoning mix (We used McCormick original)
1 (15 oz) can light red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
1 (15 oz) can dark red kidney beans, rinsed and drained
In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the ground beef and the onion. Cook until meat is browned and onion are tender and beginnig to get translucent. Drain grease. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Reduce heat to low and simmer for at least an hour.
