I've got no idea about the fandom either, but it was a very nice peice of writing. I liked how... methodical it was, as a peice. Little slashes of what they do and how they do it, but it created a very clear picture, without sitting down and describing the colour of their jeans.

*doesn't know if I've got my point across, but if you can't figure it out, it's complementary*
