This is a great accompanying piece to the last one you did. Almost a bit of closure yet I could see there could be more. Nicely done. I should go look up this song.
You know, I bought a copy of GoldenEye a few days ago. All because I love your Alec/James so much...
And damn, if this doesn't just make me _hurt_ for Alec. Poor boy. Poor sadistic boy, yes, but that's why we love him so much, right?
Of course, my snark brain stepped in on the "orphan" line and reminded me of the great bit from the Kevin Kline "Pirates of Penzance": "When you say "often" (orphen), do you mean often frequently, or orphan a person who has lost his parents?" *snicker*
But I digress *gasps of horror...no!* -- I'd be quite happy with Alec/James fic all the time. But wait, that means no more Sean/Viggo, or Boromir/Aragorn from you...*sigh* Guess I'll just have to content myself with sharing. *smirk*

*eyes bug* :O
Well.
Guess that means I can expect Alec/James from you sometime soon, right? Right? (hon, you should know better than to tell me you've succumbed to your urges. I just might tell you to take them a step further. :p)
Ooooh, I like. Many intriguing takes -- I never could see Bond loving (for lack of a better term) Trevelyan as much as Trevelyan loved him.
I most especially like the part about the memorial wall -- that's one of my favorite lines in the movie, and I like your expansion on it. Did you extrapolate or actually find background somewhere?
oh, extrapolation, definitly, and in a big way. It's not mentioned, iirc, at all in the books, and I personally have no idea what religion the Cossacks were. I just made it up. :p
Can I tell you how much I adore your 006/007 fics? Seriously. After I saw Goldeneye I went in search of Alec/James slash. Alas, there were few and far between.
But you keep me happily supplied. You give depth to the characters and their actions that cannon(as always in Bond movies) lacks.

After reading this, I think I'm going to have to re-watch Goldeneye. I loved it.

No, seriously, I wasn't sure if they were made up or not. My Russian history is sadly lacking. :(
