Character: Homura Akemi
Fandom: Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Personality: Originally, Homura was socially awkward, immensely shy, insecure, and had a hard time fitting in school and making friends. Being put on the spot as the new transfer student, not knowing the answers when she was called on during class and a frail constitution from a heart disease she was still recovering from weren’t helping matters either. But even with her low self-esteem, which began to (due to the influence of a witch) turn into suicidal thoughts, Homura managed to befriend Madoka and subsequently be saved by her. As her first and “only” friend, she develops a strong relationship with her, being instantly drawn to the other’s warm and cheerful personality only to be distraught over her death. Following those events, she received her own time-manipulation abilities as a magical girl, making Homura’s main drive (to this day) to be to be able to save Madoka.
While a noble enough goal, countless failures have turned what started out as self-improvement into Homura reinventing herself into a radically different person.
Instead of anxiety and being brought to tears, she now exudes an elegance that just seems to draw others to her, along with no shortage of confidence; and prominence in both sports and her academic studies. She realizes that the mission she imposed upon herself leaves no room for error, as she dispatches witches with startling efficiency, claiming to side with those who are rational and against people who would pick "useless fights".
Cruel as it seems, the burden of rewriting history is one that she willingly carries, and she has long since stopped being afraid over being made to face terrifying creatures in life-or-death battles or worrying about her own corruption as magical girl. No matter how often she’s failed, how many witches she defeated, or many (potential) allies have died, Homura won't stop until she reaches the ending she's been longing for all this time. Though it's those repeated failures that have, at times, made her question her own humanity. With her emotions almost always suppressed, Homura delivers her words with an ice cold truth unexpected from someone so young. How it makes others feels is not a concern for her. As far as she's concerned, having the truth, unpleasant as it may be, is better than having it twisted or hidden from you altogether.
With her intentions of rewriting history, she isn't particularly willing to accept the help of others when it comes to most matters. Having shed her previous persona, the present Homura chooses to work alone. The idea of forging alliances is only entertained if there's no other way, such as agreeing to work with the antagonistic Kyouko Sakuya, hoping that their combined powers are enough to defeat the Walpurgis Night, an exceptionally powerful witch. All other matters are handled by herself, as she prefers it. But even Homura's armor isn't without cracks.
Rare as the occasion may be (and mostly reserved for Madoka), she is fiercely loyal to those she would genuinely see as a friend and will ensure their protection no matter the cost, or the method that are used. In extreme cases, Homura may even partially revert to her old personality. Unusual as it may be for someone as refined as her, if an emotional breakdown paired with crying and yelling helps them realize their own importance and how much their safety and well-being means to others, it's a good enough trade-off for her. While her predominantly logical personality may frequently put her at odds with others, if they're unable to help themselves, then she will do it for them. It's fine if they don't understand her motives.
They don't need to.
As long as those precious to her are kept out of harm's way, end justifies the means.

Homura Akemi synopsis at Wikipedia Homura's Canon Point will be as Post-Episode 10
Abilities: Homura is smart enough to the point where she's able to solve complex mathematical equations with ease and make the instructors wonder if she's automatically set a new record on her first high jump attempt at her new school. She also carries a familiarity with hand-to-hand combat, swords, and modern weaponry, including but not limited to: handguns, shotguns, automatic weapons, and various grenade types. Her physical strength is augmented even further as a magical girl, capable of handling a lot more punishment and great feats of strength than someone with her frame should normally have.
Her most prominent ability, and the reason why she's called an "Irregular", is the disc she wears on her left wrist. Though it doubles as a shield, it allows Homura to manipulate time. With it, she's able to freeze time (the effect on another person will wear off as long as she remains in physical contact with them) travel back to the past (disabled), and use it as a sort of "storage" that holds all of her firearms and other weapons.
The price she paid for all that power comes in the form of her Soul Gem, which is essentially her soul being separated from her body. This forces her to keep the Gem within 100 meters of herself, or drop lifeless to the ground and be considered as good as dead. It also means that her body will recover as long as the Soul Gem is intact. Should the Soul Gem shatter, Homura would also die, and should she use her powers too much without "cleansing" it from fallen witch's Grief Seed, then Homura would be corrupted to the point of transforming into a witch herself.
ADDED NOTE: While I’m okay with disabling time travel, the nature of Homura's powers as a whole rely on steady use of Grief Seeds, I would like to request for her Soul Gem to be frozen/locked as to keep her from corruption to the point of turning into a Witch.

School Clothes and Magical Girl Outfit Sample writing: Was she human anymore? Perhaps not, but if obtaining the power to save the one most important to you meant discarding one's humanity... It was an exchange that Homura was comfortable with. Before becoming a magical girl, she couldn't have even saved herself. She was so willing to give up on life, only worthy enough to be an easy target for the Witches and their Familiars. Relying on others, being constantly protected by them…
Pathetic. What many would consider that to be a harsh outlook, it was accurate way her describing herself during those days.
But even if she wasn't human, if her entire existence could now be ended by the mere shattering of her Soul Gem, Homura accepted that as well. What she had become now was enough to accomplish her goal. Within the sanctuary and privacy of her own home, the magical girl stared at the table in front of her, hunched over as she remained seated, as the pendulum incessantly swung back and forth.
There would be casualties, and enemies, just like before. And for all she knew, this attempt could up just like the others: a failure. She was used to that as well. But no matter how many times it would take, how many Kyubeys she ended up killing, Homura would never stop. The less the others we aware, the better. Keeping them in blissful ignorance... Wasn't that preferable instead of realizing the truth of what awaited them should they choose to go down that path?
“This maze… I’ll repeat it, as many times as I have to.” Homura said, looking at the map of city spread out over the table in front of her. “I will escape.”
Everything she did, everything she owed... was all for her.
"Madoka."
Sample journal entry: [as the feed begins, viewers can see a young girl staring intently at the monitor. her blank expression is best described as "an incredible poker face", making it damn near impossible to figure out what she's thinking simply by looking at her.]
My name is Homura Akemi, and whoever is responsible for my presence here... I have no time for this.
[even if you can now tell that she's not pleased about this, her voice remains calm, and expression is still the same.]
Provide me with an explanation as to how I arrived and an exit.
I will not remain idle for much longer.
[as she finishes, homura runs a hand through her long black hair before ending her broadcast. simple and to the point, an efficient way to operate, as usual.]
