Chapter: 9/?
Synopsis: Neither one, Kouyou or Yuu really remembered them, but Shinji and Naoyuki still kept an eye on them when they had nothing else to do. Kouyou had lost his fairies when he turned ten because he no longer needed his magical fairies to help him. In other words, he had gotten too old and they had to be assigned to another child. The most they could do for Kouyou was watch him from afar and use limited magic to help him, but only in situations when he was in danger. He wasn’t in danger too often --at least not since Takashi’s memory was erased so he didn’t remember how he managed to break his arm, and Kouyou had no idea either.
Comments: Sorry! Would have had this up earlier, but I was watching Gundam and totally not paying attention to anything else...
“I’m not doing anything wrong!” Naoyuki sighed heavily as Shinji ran around the room, trying his best to stay away from the angry fairy. He should have known better than to leave Shinji alone on his own for longer than a second, and it was even worse that he was left alone with Kouyou. Kouyou probably didn’t remember the Sherman incident the last time, or at least not enough to remember he should never wish for any sort of animal. Unfortunately for Naoyuki, he had forgotten to have a talk with the fairy council about limiting Shinji’s powers so he couldn’t grant stupid wishes relating to animals. Apparently Nao didn’t make sure Shinji would never have another pet again.
There were times Shinji forgot about his magic, and this was one of those times. The thing was, he was so afraid of Naoyuki’s bad side that he would just sort of forget because he was too busy thinking of ways to save his ass in the end. But Shinji loved Sherman! He couldn’t just get rid of him for good like Naoyuki told him too. Sherman was a pet, and that meant he was part of their family now. Naoyuki would just have to accept that and get over it.
“You’re not? Really?” Naoyuki tried to grab the other fairy but failed when Shinji slid on the ground when Nao’s hands were close to getting him. “You filled Kouyou’s room with birds again! You’re lucky Yuu isn’t here or he would have a heart attack!” He heard Kouyou snicker at the mention of Yuu. If anything scared the so-called unscareable teen, it was birds.
Unlike the last time, Kouyou wasn’t hiding from the magical splitting bird. Instead he was sitting cross-legged on his bed as Sherman continued splitting. It didn’t bother him that his room was a complete mess again because Shinji and Naoyuki were magical so they could just clean it for him. They would clean it for him because he wasn’t going to lift a finger and do it himself. That would be completely pointless because he wasn’t the one who had the power to wave a wand and make things disappear, although he must admit it was pretty amusing just how stupid Shinji could be.
---
Mrs. Takashima raised an eyebrow as she put the remote down on the coffee table. Something was making an awful lot of noise upstairs, and the only person up there was Kouyou. She didn’t even want to know what he was up to, or who he managed to sneak in his room. More than likely he had let Yuu climb through the window, once again, and now they were making noise while thinking they were quiet. She wasn’t stupid; she knew Yuu snuck into Kouyou’s room at night. It didn’t bother her because she always thought Yuu was a nice boy, but they could at least be quiet up there.
It was so loud up there that she couldn’t even hear the television. Usually she would just ignore it and turn the volume up, but the volume was already as loud as it could go and all the yelling and screaming could be heard from upstairs. She stood, ready to make her way up the stairs. She was already nearing the stairs as Kouyou began yelling loudly, but then the door bell began to ring, so she turned back around and went to answer the door.
“Hi Mrs. Takashima!” Yuu yelled, his voice cracking due to the cold he had developed thanks to his boyfriend. “I’m here to bring Kouyou his homework! He’s awfully far behind in his work and I’m afraid he won’t be able to catch up if I don’t help him!”
The smile on Yuu’s face was hysterical, not to mention fake. He must have known he wasn’t allowed to visit Kouyou, Mrs. Takashima concluded. “Wait…” she leaned back so she could hear the noise from upstairs. Kouyou was still yelling and there was another voice yelling along with him. “If you aren’t upstairs with Kouyou, then who is?” God, she was so confused. Kouyou would never sneak anyone else in his room other than Yuu, not even Akira and Takanori.
“Oh~ you know Crazy Kouyou. Always talking to himself and pretending someone else is in there. Y’know he pretends he’s two different people at a time. That’s why everyone thinks he’s a nut job.” Yuu laughed nervously with his hand on his hip, shaking his head while he rolled his eyes.
“….just tell him to keep it down up there.” Mrs. Takashima sighed as moved so the boy could make his way in. Whatever was going on up there wasn’t her business, nor did she even want to know the details. Obviously he really was crazy.
---
“God! Shinji what the hell is wrong with you?!” Naoyuki yelled, his arms wrapping around Kouyou’s head as if he were protecting him from all the birds flying around. “One of these days I’ll kick your ass so hard you’ll have nothing left.”
“I’d like to see you try!” Shinji grinned as he flew around the room with his shirt caught in multiple bird beaks. If he weren’t a fairy who could already fly, he would be having the time of his life, but instead he was just trying to find some form of amusement. If Nao wanted to kick his ass, he was going to have one hell of a time trying.
“Mao I camf bweef!” Kouyou was flailing his arms wildly as the door flew open. His first reaction was to scream because it had to be his mother, but when the fairy slapped him on the head he closed his mouth.
“Don’t scream! Your mother will come up here!” Nao hissed as he unwrapped his arms from around Kouyou’s head.
“Ahh~ shit!” Yuu’s screams filled the air as Kouyou was tackled down on the bed and all the worksheets went flying. He hated birds, he abso-fucking-lutely hated the damn things. He didn’t like looking at them. He didn’t like listening to them. He didn’t like thinking of them. He didn’t want them a billion feet near him. All he could do was shove his face his Kouyou’s neck and squeal loudly.
Kouyou was giggling at his boyfriend’s reaction. For once he actually felt like he was the seme instead of the other way around. Yuu never let his guard down. He never liked to look weak because he was Yuu, one of the cockiest kids in school.
“Yuu, you’re so cute~” Kouyou swatted at the birds flying over them.
“Don’t call me that. Make those fucking things go away!” Yuu yelled and tightened his grip on Kouyou’s shirt.
“Don’t be mean to Sherman, Herman, Derman, Berman, German, Zerman, Ferman, Kerman-”
“You gave them all names?!” Yuu screamed. “You’re really unbelievable! They’re all Sherman, stupid! Just because he split doesn’t mean he created a new bird! He just cloned himself, and SHINJI GET THEM OUT!” The mentioned fairy was still flying around the room when Yuu’s hand shot up and grabbed him.
“Do I have to?” Shinji pouted, but Yuu wasn’t going to pay any attention to the damn pout.
“Yes.” Yuu growled, wrapping his hand around Shinij’s throat with a glare. “And if you even think you’re going to-”
“Okay! I’ll get rid of them~” Shinji squealed, waving his wand around in the air. All the birds began disappearing one by one until only Sherman was left. “God, Kouyou. You know how to pick them. This man is a complete lunatic!”
“Get rid of him!” Yuu screamed.
“Alright~! Just let me have a second alone with him.” The fairy cleared his throat after he managed to get Yuu’s hand away from his neck. God, why did Kouyou even like him? He was so violent, and that wasn’t very attractive.
“Sherman~” The bird flapped it’s wings as Shinji petted it’s head softly. “You were a nice pet for the past… I didn’t keep track of the years, but you were a nice pet. But no one else likes you, so I have to let you go-”
“You’re not letting him go.” Naoyuki shook his head, “Because if you open that window and let that bird out, the whole country will be infested with that damn thing. You’re going to make him disappear or the fairy council will be here to take your magic away. We have bigger problems than that damn bird, so make it disappear so we can just explain what the hell we’re doing here.”
“My, my.” Kouyou tsked, “Such language from such an adorable fairy. Did you talk like that when I was a kid?”
Naoyuki screwed his face up as he turned his attention back to Shinji. The younger fairy pouted as he rose his wand and swirled it around. Of course he wasn’t going to make Sherman disappear. What kind of person would he be if he just let his dear pet disappear like that? Just because Naoyuki didn’t like Sherman didn’t mean no one else would. Kouyou and Yuu didn’t count because Shinji said so. With a wink aimed towards the bird, Shinji waved his wand in the air and Sherman was gone, but not for good; he was at Shinji’s favorite hide out: under Kouyou’s bed locked in a magical box that was both sound proof and invisible.
“Finally~” Yuu sighed and pulled himself away from Kouyou with a small blush. Now that the room was somewhat calm again, minus the bickering between the two fairies, Yuu could finally help Kouyou with his homework. He was still curious as to why the two fairies needed Kouyou in the first place, but he was sure they would spit it out eventually otherwise they wouldn’t have shown up in Kouyou’s room in the first place.
Kouyou watched Yuu hop off the bed as he began gathering all the worksheets he had been holding previously. It seemed as if he had missed more school than he had thought because the stack was massive. There was no way he was going to be able to get it all done on his own. At least he was going to return to school on Monday, so he could at least lessen the pile of work he would have in the end. Actually he would just be doing it in class, but it would be less work he would have to focus on at home.
Yuu climbed back on the bed with the pile of papers in his lap as Kouyou sighed heavily. “You had to get my work, huh?” The blonde muttered as he leaned over to open the drawer in his nightstand so he could grab a pencil. If he was going to get anything done, he might as well start now while Yuu was still willing to help. It was a plus having Yuu as a boyfriend because he knew what he was doing when it came to school if he decided he wanted to pay attention and actually care. So Kouyou had no problem with his boyfriend helping him with his work because Yuu explained it much better than a teacher ever could.
“It’s the easiest way to get into your house. By the way, your mom could hear all the commotion up here, so I told her you have an issue with talking to yourself.” Yuu shrugged as he scooted closer to Kouyou who was glaring at him.
“What the hell is wrong with you? Now she’s going to look at me weirdly!” Kouyou slapped Yuu on the chest and crossed his arms.
“What was I supposed to say?! ‘He’s talking to two fairies’?! That would never work. She would think I’m stupid or something.” The raven-haired boy shook his head and sniffled due to his runny nose. He smiled victoriously as Kouyou opened his mouth and shut it again. How was Kouyou supposed to reply to him anyways? It was in Kouyou’s best interest to just accept that his mother would think he was weird for the rest of his life.
As the two boys began working on the worksheet, Naoyuki moved to sit on the edge of the bed facing them. Snapping his fingers and pointing to the spot next to him, Shinji sat down as well and cleared his throat to get the boy’s attention.
“There’s a reason we’re here.” Nao spoke up as the boys looked up from their papers briefly. “It was probably wrong of me to come running to Kouyou-”
“You mean floating.” Kouyou cut in.
“Whatever. Anyways, it was probably wrong of me because you shouldn’t be pulled in to something like this. For once I should have listened to Shinji, but I was too stubborn and there’s no going back for us now. Isshi already knows we’ve been talking to you again, but I don’t care because he’s exactly the problem. Do you remember the man who took us away from you?” The older fairy looked at Kouyou who seemed to be thinking as he tapped his pencil on his bottom lip.
“Kind of.” The blonde pursed his lips as he tried his best to visualize the person in question. The name sounded familiar and he thought for a second he knew who he was, but in the end he shook his head and frowned. “No, I don’t’ know.”
“Well, he’s a very bad man and I’m not just saying that because he’s the one who takes fairies from their godchildren when he feels they’ve done their job.” Nao waved his hand as a picture of Isshi appeared in the air beside him. “This is him. He is not a fairy like us. Isshi isn’t even from our world, so he has no business working under the fairy council. I always thought he was suspicious, and it turns out I was right.”
“Isshi is exactly what you thought he was.” Shinji spoke up. “Even if you didn’t come out and say it, I still knew you thought he was a demon. He is. I don’t know how he got a job working for fairies, but it’s not our business. What is our business is the fact he’s taking over.”
“Yes, and you have to come to Fairy Land with us to stop him.” Nao nodded as Kouyou raised an eyebrow.
“What the hell am I supposed to do?! I’m an ex-godkid who hardly remembers a thing! And I’m not one for confrontation. Make Yuu do it. People fear him.” Kouyou squeaked. There was no way he was going to go make some demon leave Fairy Land. For all he knew, Isshi could just be hiding in that the body in the picture. He could be a giant monster or something and there was no way Kouyou was going near him. He watched movies. He knew he would get eaten.
“Don’t be a baby. It’s not like you have to fight him or anything.” Shinji rolled his eyes.
“Yeah, it’s just… Isshi is taking over Fairy Land because he thinks fairies aren’t doing any good for children.”
“He thinks fairies corrupt kids, so we need you to prove that he’s wrong!” Shinij nodded with a large smile.
“You seem perfectly normal and not corrupt.”
“You are so wrong about that!” Yuu finally jumped in to the conversation. “You guys don’t even know how screwed up he is! Don’t even get me started! He… makes smart ass comments to people just to piss them off and then I have to stop them from kicking his ass, he’s rude towards teachers and tells them they should die-”
“She’s an old hag!” Kouyou defended.
“Ever hear of the phrase ‘respect your elders’? Try it once in awhile.” The older boy rolled his eyes. “He’s friends with Akira. That alone shows just how corrupt he is. He thinks cheerios are sending him a secret message, he’s convinced pixies live in electrical sockets because it explain the reason they occasionally spark, he-”
“I think they get the point, Yuu.” Kouyou hissed.
“I’m just getting warmed up!”
“Well shut your mouth before I tell Akira your secret and then he’ll tell the whole school!”
“I don’t have a secret.”
“Do too. How do you think the whole school would react when they found out the scary Shiroyama kid was afraid of birds?!” Kouyou laughed as Yuu pursed his lips.
“It’s a common fear! I’m not the only one who is afraid of those monsters.”
“Boys!” Naoyuki clapped his hands loudly to make the boys start arguing. “God, you two are worse than you were as children! Grow up~ Now, like we were saying, we need Kouyou’s help.”
“No offence, but this whole thing just sounds kind of lame.” Kouyou muttered. “Can Takashima Kouyou defeat the evil demon Isshi and keep him from taking over Fairy Land?! Tune in next week to find out~”
“Kouyou!” Nao yelled. “Will you shut the hell up for five seconds?! This is serious~”
“You know what else is serious? Den-O. He has a tough job. You know, he has to fight all those imajins, even though he has the power of Momotarous, Kintaros, Urataros, and Ryuutaros. It’s still pretty serious because he has to go into Liner Form, and when he’s in Liner Form he’s not technically possessed by them, but his sword helps him. By the way, that sword is called DenKamen Sword. The imajin’s, his imajin’s I mean, communicate with Ryotaro with it. Ryotaro is Den-O, in case you didn’t know that. I wish the world was just like it was in Kamen Rider Den-O!” Kouyou’s eyes lit up as Shinji moved to hold is wand up.
“Shinji, I swear to all things holy, I will kill you if you lift that wand any further. Put the damn thing down now.” By this point in time, Naoyuki was lying across the bed with his arm draped over his eyes. “I think this is a waste of time. Obviously Kouyou as the attention span of a fruit fly and Shinji is just a moron. I would hate to say this is all up to me and Yuu. We’re the mature ones.” He muttered to himself as Kouyou continued on with his Den-O rant and Shinji was listening as if it was the most interesting thing in the world to listen to.
“Or this whole thing is completely useless. We’re doomed.”
---
“Shin!” Mrs. Uke stood at the front door with a large smile on her face. The small boy often showed up at her house, but she didn’t mind because he was a nice boy and treated her son nicely. Shin wished his mother could be more like her. Mrs. Uke didn’t care that he and Yutaka were together. She supported them one hundred percent. Whenever Shin needed someone to talk to and Yutaka wasn’t home, she was there for him unlike his own mother who started to care less and less after she found out he was gay. “What brings you here?” She led the boy into her house.
“I just… needed to talk to Yutaka.” He muttered softly. He really didn’t want to talk to Mrs. Uke about his problem; at least not until he talked everything out with Yutaka first.
“He’s in the living room, honey.” The older lady patted him on the shoulder in understanding. Shin smiled in thanks as he toed off his shoes and made his way to the living room where Yutaka was lying on the floor with a manga in front of him. The smaller boy smiled softly as Yutaka turned the page and rested his head on his palm, completely oblivious that Shin was already at his house.
“Yutaka.” The smaller boy moved so he was sitting on his lover’s back with a smile. He ran his fingers through Yutaka’s dark hair as Yutaka purred softly.
“Mm. You’re here already?” Yutaka tipped his head back as Shin leaned forward to press their lips together.
“It doesn’t take that long for me to walk here, y’know.” Shin shrugged and climbed off his boyfriend. “I walked faster than I usually do. I didn’t want to be home. My parents won’t listen to me, so I wanted to get out faster.”
“Lets go to my room so we can have some more privacy.” It’s not that Yutaka didn’t want his mother to know about Shin moving away. He just didn’t want to attempt talking to his lover while his mother was flipping out. Besides, it was his relationship and he was going to fix things himself.
The taller boy closed his manga and stood up as Shin followed him out of the room. Neither one of them knew what they could do to convince Shin’s parents to stay in Tokyo. If they already hated their son’s relationship with another boy, they weren’t going to stay and let them continue to be together, and Yutaka and Shin weren’t going to break up. They made their way up the stairs, Yutaka’s hand moved back to entwine with Shin’s.
“What are we going to do?” Shin asked softly once he was in his lover’s bedroom. He could hear Yutaka sigh when he made his way toward the bed to sit down, but pulled Shin down on his lap before speaking. In truth, he really didn’t know what they could do because Shin was still a minor. There was no way he could stay in Tokyo while his parents went back to Saitama. The whole reason they were moving was because of Shin’s relationship, so they definitely wouldn’t leave him.
“What can we do?” Yutaka rested his head on Shin’s shoulder and pouted. “Your parents really are stupid. Even if they take you away from me, do they really think we would end out relationship? We can do this long distance in secret, right? And what do they think they’ll accomplish by this?! It’s not like you’ll automatically become straight once you move. In the end it’s pointless because nothing is going to change the way we feel about each other.”
“I know that.” The smaller boy reached back to run his fingers through Yutaka’s hair. “But do you really think we would be able to do this long distance? Why can’t my parents be more like yours?” If his parents were like the Uke’s, he wouldn’t have most of the problem he had to face every day. Yutaka was lucky to live with a family who supported him no matter what, and not only that, he was lucky to have a family that loved him.
“If we have to, we’ll do it. I mean, is it really a big deal? Sure, I would love to have you here every day, but think about it. It’s just a couple of minutes by train, approximately an hour! Don’t be too upset.” Yutaka tried to assure, but Shin shook his head fiercely and whined.
“You don’t get it!” Shin stood up and gripped his hair between his fingers. “If they take me back to Saitama, they won’t let me see you. They’ll make sure they know where I am at all time, who I’m talking to, what I’m doing, fuck, they’ll try to even know what I’m thinking all the time. I don’t care how far away we are from each other. That’s not the point! They won’t let me have any communication with you!”
“Well then, you’ll just have to have communication with someone else, then won’t you?” Yutaka grinned as he stood up and began pacing his room. If Shin wasn’t allowed to be with Yutaka, then they would just have to break up so Shin could find someone else.
“I don’t like the look on your face. That’s the look you always have when you’re up to something, and I don’t like it.” Shin shook his head and backed up until he was against the closet door with Yutaka standing in front of him.
“I guess we have no choice but to break up.” Shin opened his mouth in protest, but Yutaka help his hand up, his smirk growing wider. “Your parents will be pleased when you meet a nice young girl named Kai who you’ve fallen so hard for you’ve forgotten all about that horrible Yutaka kid.”
“Are you telling me you’re going to start cross-dressing?” The smaller boy had a horrible image in mind of his boyfriend dressed as a girl and it wasn’t pretty. “Yutaka, I love you, but you would make one fucking weird looking woman.”
“Shin, will you follow my train of thought?” Yutaka rolled his eyes. “What I’m saying is, you’ll meet this Kai girl online. I’ll make a fake profile using a picture of one of Kouyou’s sisters. They’re really pretty and obviously women, right? Then I’ll be the one controlling the profile, and all you have to do is talk about Kai all the time and make it sound like you’ve fallen for this girl. Then mention something about going to meet her. She lives in Tokyo, you wanna see her, they let you go. Badda bing, badda boom, you’re in my bed. Sound like a plan?”
“Out of all the ideas you’ve had to fuck me, I think this is your most creative.” Shin rolled his eyes, wrapping his arms around Yutaka’s waist and resting his head on his shoulder. “But it’s worth a try. Your ideas usually work… I just don’t think I can pretend I’m bi. The thought of a woman in a sexual way is sooo gross.”
“Pfft, god, I’m not asking you to think of me as a girl! By all means, fantasize about me as me if that’s what gets you through the night. I love you, but I’m not becoming a transsexual just to go through with this.”
“That’s not what I meant!” The smaller boy sighed. “You were sounding smart there for a second, and now that you mention becoming transsexual to convince my parents… that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. If you became a girl I wouldn’t want you anymore! You’d have boobs and those are gross! You’d have an awful lot of fun trying to get this, but then again if you did go through with it… I would be the seme, but I’m also not putting anything in a girl’s body. Can you imagine how disgusting that would be?”
“Shin?”
“Yes, Yutaka?”
“Shut up.”
A/N: As you can see, it's going to take awhile for Nao to get Kouyou to stop being stupid long enough to convince him to help. Not only that, but the next chapter will cover some stuff about Kazuki.
