Holiday backlog: fiberglass house in Wisconsin

Aug 05, 2006 11:36

I have a rare treat for you today: a scan of an energy-efficient fiberglass
"cave house", from a special issue of National Geographic, 1981.

Text says:

"The couple fashioned the structure by inflating plastic sheets and spraying
them, 6 to 8 inches thick, with polyurethane, a material used as insulation.
A small forced-air furnace heats the house at a fraction of the cost for a
conventional dwelling."
