Meeting

I have a meeting in an hour and a half to discuss a paper I wrote with my professor and my semester project. I want to discuss my paper about as much as I want a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. I'll be fine... well, you shouldn't be sure of that in the case of this professor, ever...

Let me just put it this way. The conversation began with "Before I give you back your paper, let me preface it by saying that I was really disappointed in your work." He disagreed with my using a "discursive" style, thought I focused on the wrong content and missed important elements, suggested that my organization and structure were lacking to the point that he could not follow my train of thought or the find any purpose in my paper, thought I had no appropriate thesis or conclusion, and heavily marked up my grammar and citations.

Other than that, it was okay. Just a few minor notes. But he didn't want me to think that he was disappointed in me or my work overall.

Sure, no problem. I'm just lucky that my next appointment today is therapy.
