ZOMBIE #7 (Sammy) eveninghaunt October 27 2009, 19:27:29 UTC
A loud piercing screech resounded through the air, all of the other other zombies shrieking out in unison with the seventh zombie, whom of which could be lovingly referred to as Sammy by the others in their shared language which basically only consisted of grunts, screams, and about five grumbled words. Not that it hindered them any from having deep philosophical conversations about the deliciousness of humanoid brains.

They all agreed: they were delicious!

With that in mind or what they had left of one anyway, the mass of zombies that had previously been confined within the small cabin all came pouring out after they finally smashed the puny door down. The brains were all theirs for the taking ( ... )

The sheer crush at the door of the cabin would have suffocated or trampled a living human being, but of course, they weren't normal. Mobs had always been a force to be reckoned with, but they were a supernatural mob with a purpose.

And the delectable scents of human flesh wafting through the cracks in the door kept on multiplying, feeding the frenzy -- two, three, six! Like lambs to the slaughter; now all they had to do was get to the dinner table.

And once the obstruction was gone? Its consciousness finally detached vaguely from the screaming mass, instincts and blind eyes honing in on the fringe of the group as it launched itself from all fours, gaunt limbs stretched to embrace the prey.

"HOOOOOOOOOooooooooogghhh."

With the door ruined on the ground below, nothing stopped this one from tearing its way outside. It didn't even have to plause long enough to "look" around; it could smell the stink of panic and fear most noticably from one of the living beings.

That one would be his.

Only an inhuman screech was given as a warning, before the undead was launching itself at the poor medic at a ridiculous speed, mouth open and waiting.

The fire gave it about three seconds' worth of pause, squawking out a surpried sound that was some sort of a mixture of a yelp and a hiss. If it had been more human than undead, maybe the smell of rotting flesh and hair burning would have bothered it more.

The creature flailed around in confusion and raked at itself, as if it could simply wipe the fire away. Soon, though, it abanonded that notion and hollered angrily, clumsily charging towards Lute once again-- even while old skin and coagulated blood sizzled away.

Too many at once, that was the only excuse Ocelot could come up with. Too preoccupied with dodging the undead himself, he was late to notice one latching itself onto Big Boss.

"Damn!"

Ocelot stepped back to give himself room to fire his revolvers, nearly stumbling in his haste.

But he couldn't shoot the zombie off, because Big Boss was exactly between Ocelot and the zombie, and they were both moving too much for him to get a quick shot at whatever brief part of the zombie wasn't being blocked.

His thoughts ran quickly. He'd have to circle around to get a good shot, but there wasn't enough time to move, he had to shoot now because John was being eaten alive--

Ocelot turned his elbow and fired at the outside wall of the cabin. The bullet left a splintered dent, but did not go through it; instead, it ricocheted off and went straight for the back of Sammy-the-Zombie's head.
