i don't know about petitioning a class. i know new jeff did it. i think he had to come up with forms & supporting documentation & a letter or something explaining why he wanted to petition? not sure.
as far as getting into a full class, show up on the first day & talk to the professor, see what the chances are of crashing or getting added. see if they'll let you keep showing up each week until enough people drop to add you to the class.
the class i want is petitionable for my major (it said so in the syllabus). so i know i can get it approved, i just need to figure out how to do it. i think through my major department? i don't even know where that building is lol.
for the petition i would call your major department (or just go there) and ask them how to do it. your major dept probably has their own website with additional information. if you don't know what it is just try google searching it. the website will at least have contact information.
for the class you want to get into get on the waitlist as soon as you can and try emailing the professor before class starts explaining your situation just so he/she will be familiar with who you are and they might try harder to let you in their class. on the first day go early, introduce yourself to the professor and sit in the front. keep going early and sitting in the front until you're in the class.
yeah, why is the class already full? i would think since you're a senior (wow.. i didn't know you were a senior? how much longer do you have?) and it's your major that you would definitely get in the class.
i'm *supposed* to graduate winter quarter (march) but that is if all the classes i need to take all work out. which i thought wouldn't be a problem but already it is! there are 2 classes i HAVE to take and the rest i have options, so it is basically these 2 classes that are holding me from graduating on time.
