First of all, and this must be completely understood, I think we can all agree that the best thing about this movie is Anthony Michael Hall as Farmer Ted (or "The Geek," as he is credited). John Hughes clearly knows the rule about meaningful secondary characters in a romantic comedy. Moving on.

With that picture you used, it reminded me of how he was biting his lip and longingly staring at her probably moments beforehand, and that just totally made me melt. That bit always makes me smile. :D

I absolutely LOVE this movie (and the soundtrack) so thanks for the post ^^ But... I can't believe you didn't mention the Donner!! For all his randomness, I think Sixteen Candles would lose about 20% of its awesomeness without him.

I don't know that there is, either. But ... they *had* to have filmed something we didn't see because that moment is NOT in the movie.

Hmm, I bought this movie a few months ago as part of a boxed set with several other films of that era, but I haven't got around to watching it yet. Now I reeeeally want to go put it in my DVD player. But...I think I must be a grown up and go to bed instead. :( WAH!!
