Lovely :D

However Kahlan knew that if they had been able to spend time together in that magic world there was a chance that they never would have found a real way to be together. They might have relied on that painting for the rest of their lives. What a good point. I think it's good that Richard and Kahlan don't get to spend much time in that painting - it's so unreal, it wouldn't be like they were really living their lives or being together.

Exactly. One little change can make such a huge difference to the overarching scheme of things. Personally I am convinced if they had used the painting or a rada'han to get past the magical barrier keeping them apart, it would have been seen as Richard not being accepting of all of her. Then there would have been that sliver of doubt and it would have been catastrophic had they been together without the rada'han/painting/ect.
