Oh yeah, that hits the spot. SIGH.

I've got a clip of the 'wooing of Katherine' scene and it is DELIGHTFUL. I'll get the link to you!

Definitely need to look for that! The "once more into the breach" speech is well-delivered, too!

Also, it's interesting contrasting it to Branagh's version (*sigh* at Doyle's score here). I like the intimacy and quietness of THC version - no less intense, though.

I looked up the Branagh version a while back (before Tom, even, I was just looking for versions of the speech) and I found the music a bit much. Like, the speech is so great it doesn't need to be insisted on by the score. I very much like the emotion in THC, from "we band of brothers" on. It's really moving.

I really liked the emotion from Tom as well. It suits the closeness of the scene.

I'll give you that, if you're really into the speech, the score would be pushing it over the top. I really loved it as a piece of music, over and above its use in the movie. Like, if I had heard it before seeing the movie I'd still be all HELL YEAH, hee!

In fact, here's the entry about Henry V where I illustrate with the Branagh version. And remark that I would definitely bawl at the band of brothers line. Which is where THC has Henry actually get emotional. Which is all kinds of awesome!
