I just love that it was totally obvious that they were planning the snark, and then she just brought the house down. Don't ASSume, judges.

I've seen this many times in the past week, and naturally it's heartwarming--but I'm just cynical enough to wonder if the whole thing is a plant, just for ratings. Isn't this the same show that had that "dumpy" guy a couple of years ago who turned out to have a drop-dead operatic voice? Also, I'm fairly certain the judges pre-screen folks before they appear on the show itself, don't they? Simon, at the very least, might be in on it.

Even so, it's a great message about not judging a book by its cover, etc.

If so, it seems they still surprised the hell out of the judges (at least two of them) and the audience. And I really like the song.

I am not one of those people who cries, but I did. I was pulling for her every bit of the way. Seeing this made my whole day better, and it helps me believe that anything really is possible :)
