The update of this story combined with everything that's been happening in this fandom might have just reduced me to happy tears. Just a little story for you there.

This is just...there's no more superlatives to use but it's about the most consistantly intriguing and fascinating stories I've ever read because it's indefinable. It spans the genres. Is it a horror story? Is it an adventure? Oh no, it's a romance! But a dark romance. But a story about the power of healing as well. Most writers would have ended this at the point of Vince rescuing Howard and then letting it all go back to happily ever after - I know I would have. But you're infinetely cleverer than that, and this story has taken so many unexpected twists and turns, leading us into character development that otherwise would have been lost and this slow, painful exploration of actual, human relationships. And it's always in-character, always flawless written, through all 36 chapters.

You're flipping inspirational, ok?

Early on in the story, people would write comments about how Vince needed to save Howard before something bad happened and I was like, "You don't even know what I'm going to do to this guy..."

I really do appreciate your kind words and your patience with my insanity. I do tend to think a lot of fanfic ends right where the story gets interesting!

I've already told you how much I love the concept of therapist!Saboo, but... I REALLY LOVE the concept of therapist!Saboo! And I love the way you used his perspective here to give us a more objective assessment of Howard's true progress--which is huge, no matter what Howard seems to think or fear. And Saboo knows right where the emotional knots are, and where to apply the right sort of pressure to get Howard to admit his fears, both about what he is and about the tension between what he sees as his irreparable brokenness and the strength of Vince's loyalty and love. He might always be afraid, on some level, that Vince will eventually get fed up and leave him when he realizes that Howard can't be "fixed" (as though Vince isn't already well aware of that!), but knowing the fear for what it is... that's a start ( ... )

I am always so happy to see another chapter of this story - I never want it to end, what am I going to do without it? Therapist!Saboo is complete genius, as is his alternative career as a hairdresser, and I LOVE his musings on Earthlings and the way they see the Universe all wrong (and the fact that it does all work by magic and not by physics).

And the haircut scene at the end is beautiful and hopeful and sweet... the best thing about it is the way neither of them needs to say more than a couple of words once it's over, because they both understand how much it really means.

Please write more. And don't be in too much of a hurry to get to the end!

An excellent mix of endearing sweetness and uproarious non-sequiturs, as usual! Saboo and the backstory you've given him crack me up!
