What a wonderful chapter - you made me laugh and laugh with your shaman dialogue and Saboo doing a bad impression of Naboo... then you totally melted me when Vince broke down... and reduced me to wreckage with your sad/happy ending!

Lots of wonderful lines here but I particularly loved Vince's reasons for not wanting to play charades: 'It was one thing to play at being dim, it was quite another to actually just feel stupid.' And Howard saying 'I don't want to lose this... but I don't know how to keep it.' Awwww...

"Take a break from revision to read this chapter," I said. "It'll be fun," I said.

And now I'm sobbing again. That went well.

This was beautiful. I loved seeing the progression of their relationship against the backdrop of normality - the bickering shaman and Vince's room. Your writing is exceptional. I might have some of these lines tattooed on my forehead.

How did I forget this was still going?! I LOVE the music arguments in the first bit, and Saboo mocking Naboo and Tony and his Mrs., oh lordy! And the bit about the beds not having changed but should have. <3
