And while Einiona'd spent all this time focusing on it, beating herself up, Rion had been doing much the same (sans the skipping the classes, sans the ... lack of work ethic). It was his fault, all his fault, because she'd been joking, she'd obviously been joking, and anyone who wasn't a goddamn idiot like him could have seen that.

Of course this would happen to him. Of course. He wasn't sure what his roommate thought of him, he was pretty sure that most of the people in classes didn't take him seriously at all (because, well, look at him!), and now he'd pushed away someone who had been trying to be nice, trying to be understanding and all, and got it - because Rion couldn't take an obvious joke ( ... )
