The cat has finally stopped acting like a crazy beast.  Maybe this determines that the memory of the feline is about 2 weeks

My mom had the same problem--they stopped stocking the "gourmet" catfood that she fed the cat, so she bought some of the cheap food. The cat flat out refused to eat it, so it then became a battle of wills. After a week and a half of not eating anything, she started getting freaked out and bought some of the soft food to toss over the hard food in the hopes that it would eat it that way--the cat ate =all= the soft food, but didn't touch =any= of the hard food, and continued his hunger strike until she found his old food at another store a week later X.x
