In other news, I've been trying something crazy.  I've been making my bed in the morning.  This is not a military-tight corners perfectionist job - just a pull up the covers and make sure all the pillows are there.  I decided to try it as an exercise to prevent getting back into bed after getting up.  Not sure it works for that.  BUT it is working ( Read more... )

It's amazing how much that little task can make a difference. I don't make my bed, preferring to pull back the covers for an airing (my German upbringing is showing - I would hang the duvet outside to air if I didn't need to worry about sudden snow or rain showers during the day). My personal goal is to ensure the sink is empty of dishes before I go to work each day. Getting that one done usually means I also get the recycling put outside, and a few things that belong upstairs or in another room also get taken to where they belong.
