Such interesting recap! As I read, I kept feeling I was reading Heinlein's "Starship Troopers". Wonderful read; I can really picture it (fortunately, without feeling your pain). No comedians in your flight? Nobody ever smiled over in the direction of the snake pit to dare the fates...?

Just met your folks last weekend; know them from WAY back; thot I'd scan your blog - much fun reading it. Good stories, well written, *almost* makes BT sound like an approximation of fun. Obviously I got that wrong, but your writing makes it so.
