"Holmes vs. Moriarty! Aristotle vs. MASHY SPIKE PLATE!"

The semester has wrapped up, and let me tell you, it has been a ride. People are a trip. I like 'em. Lots getting done over here; I'm making excellent progress toward graduation, getting to know lots of people, and having some unforgettable experiences ( Read more... )

I saw the deviantArt thing! It was funny; I got linked to it by someone else and went "hey, awesome!" and then... "hey, I know that guy!" Occasionally, it is a small internet.

Also, I am loving Portal 2. I am playing it with my best friend, so I haven't finished it yet (we only see each other on weekends, cursed Real Life) but what I've seen thus far is amaaaaaaaaaazing.

One tip on feeling obliged to top yourself after having made something awesome? Don't. I had a similar experience with a bit of fanfic I wrote - not only did it get a lot of attention (well, relative to the fandom) but writing it was one of the most creatively transcendent experiences I've ever had.

I subsequently fretted intensely over everything I wrote after that, feeling somehow that if it didn't feel as soaring and amazing as the previous work... then why bother writing more?

Let me tell you, that will creatively block you like whoa. I wouldn't recommend it, if you can avoid it.

I think your advice is good. Life goes on. Homework assignments will keep rolling in, and I'll keep posting them to dA, and I'll try to make them good enough to be worth looking at. Thanks for the advice. :-)

Also, you should add me on Steam. I need a partner for Portal 2 co-op when you finish the single-player campaign! :-) (Unless you have the 360 version--I don't think that connects to Steam, which is too bad.)

I have the 360 version, yeah - anything other than adventure games, I do on my 360... where I don't have XBox Live Gold anyway, so I couldn't multiplayer on that either!

I'm really happy Portal 2 has couch co-op, because I can play the multiplayer with my best friend. :D I wish more games with multiplayer had couch co-op. I'd love to play with friends who are in the same room without requiring ludicrous console set-ups or something.

Couch co-op is the main reason I have my 360. :-) Wish more PC games had that, although it'd be obviously impractical for Portal.
