where to buy parts?

This should hopefully be an easy answer for somebody. I need to know where to buy something called a "power supply board" for my monitor. Unless they are expensive and it would be cheaper to replace the whole thing ( Read more... )

Your brother is likely in a better position to find an obtain such a thing. If you open the unit you'll likely find markings on it that can be put in Google. If you can't find the part on its own you might be able to get a broken monitor of the same model and cannibalize its power board.

Ebay usually has parts for most laptops, either that or you could always ask someone who's a HP dealer he may have connections to used parts etc.

Hello,

Have you tried eBay? Sometimes certain parts are hard to get hold of and so you pay more than you should for them. How old is the monitor? Maybe a new monitor is cheaper?

If you count your time and energy at even a fraction of what they are worth you'd be better off just buying a replacement monitor and putting your broken one on ebay as a "non-functional monitor for parts" and seeing if anyone bites.
