Geeks and Names For Inanimate Technology

Aug 11, 2006 01:37

I've had Hard Drives named HOLLY and HAL 9000.

My ex-iPod Shuffle (soon to be my sister's for free) is named SHODAN.

Now my newly won iPod Nano has been named V.I.K.I.

I am such a GEEK. XD :)

(Any bets on future name contenders for the next nameable technological device? Anyone?)

names, amusing, gadgets, wtf?, fictional computers, tech, fun

Sounds like it.

Good to hear from a fellow Aussie too, few of us are around, or we tend to wander off to the "US and rest of the world's side" and get lost in the flood of users at least.

Everything electronic in my house has a Greek or Roman name :)

My laptop is named after the proper name for the Fates

Well, from a gal with several gods who has ancient runes on her pendant, should this suprise me that you'd use things such as the fates to name your devices with? :)

My iPod is named Acheron, the river of woe that connects to the river Stxx

Odd that you name such a reliever of woe and boredom the exact opposite.
And don't you mean the river Styx? *ducks*
