Great chapter. The story is really taking shape. I've read a great amount of books, watched many documentaries about this period and I can say that your grip on the decadent side of the Occupation is not bad at all.

PS : I've seen the exhibition the link you gave talks of. The controversy about the Zucca's photos was ridiculous. 1) Zucca was obliged to shoot Paris in the sunlight because of the film speed. 2) He took photographs for "Signal", a German magazine and as expected, he avoided scenes like long queues in front of empty shops 3) if we look attentively at these photos, we can see that Paris was not the paradise on earth : no cars, wood-soled shoes, people looking disgusted (the photos on the link show the rare smiles Zucca managed to shoot).
Given that taking photos in the street was forbidden by the German occupier and even if it was some kind of propaganda, the exhibition was VERY interesting !

Wonderful chapter ^_^ I'm still absolutely intrigued by the atmosphere and situation you've built up! You really get a sense for the atmosphere of the cabaret, the decadence and the wariness as well

I loved this chapter and I am loving this story, it's so different from your others but so interesting. I can't wait for the next chapter.

The bar reminds me a lot of the belle in The Saboteur, if this is intentional I love it even more; if not, still an awesome bar.
