So today’s writing will be somewhat outside the normal area for me. I’m not going to blather on about music, something geeky, or talk up a project. I reached a one year landmark for my stock market investment experiences, and figured it was time to review things. Interesting. I'm also in Apple and Tesla, and they've done well for me in the past year. Most of the rest has been treading water.

Tesla did dip down for a stretch there because some hot shot "in the know" authority said it was over-valued. But it seems to be back on an upswing.

I ordinarily go for "value", and this is a stock whose valuation is hard to measure. But I like the idea, and I like the way they manage it, which is another thing good investors look for.

That makes it hard to tell what the "right" price should be, so I literally have it dumped into a sub-folder of the portfolio where I'm not even tempted to look at it. It could literally go bust without me noticing. (And that has happened to me before.) I just put my money in there and wait for the market to find the value.

I admit that I checked in quite frequently the first few months, mostly since it was still shiny. Now, it is pretty much weekly at most and I'm only buying stuff once every few months and have yet to sell anything. I think it will continue to become more hands-off and "let it sit there" for me in the second year.
