I think with Britta in Psych we can rely on John Oliver inevitably popping up as her prof. I`m hoping h'es not Jeff's therapist because there's no way he can help Jeff when Jeff in no way respects him.
Really good points about everything not being right with Jeff this season--thanks for pointing out those indications. And your comment about the study group learning to operate without him...that is going to really hurt when he stops being in denial about it.
I can imagine him entering therapy in relation to any of the events you mention, but I particularly think it was right before the "we're gonna finally be fine" dream sequence. That seems like such a moment of optimism about fixing whatever weird issues he's realized he has, but it's all destroyed by the end of the episode, and I can imagine him continuing to attend therapy to prove some vague point to himself or his therapist but also not cooperating much at all.
Him crying at the death of Horsebot 3000 could be the first hint for her,
If that comes up again, that'll be the 3rd time this season that a plot point was brought up in a tag (the other 2 being Britta announcing she's a psych major and the group taking the psych evaluations.) The only time I can think of in the past 2 seasons where a tag turned out to be that important was when Troy got Chang's voicemail from Halloween. It'll be interesting if that turns out to be a trend this season. I'm used to the tags being their own separate little adventures.
I definitely think that line was put in there to foreshadow a future episode where it's going to come up with the group, if for no other reason than because that episode practically writes itself, haha. Although personally I think the reason he's in therapy might have something to do with his mom, or something else not related to the group.
