Of course they were mostly up against repeats, but those are good numbers for NBC! I would actually be VERY surprised if they cancelled the show considering they already need 5 new hours of scripted shows for next year; the current shows aren't going anywhere.
I'm going to pretend Jack Black had nothing to do with this. Because if people tuned in just to see Jack Black, then that's....sad somehow, to me. IDK, I just don't get his appeal.
I'm just worried that we might have lost some new viewers checking out the show for the first break with SUCH a meta episode so soon after Winter Break. My dad watched the show for the first time and left before the first act was over, claiming that the show "wouldn't last a month." :(
To be fair, though, he's a giant grumpus and the show's audio began splitting up frequently, which made him think that the characters were swearing all the time and were, thus, censored. Definitely not something he believes his grad student/little girl should be watching.
It was one of my favorite episodes, though. The Meta! Jack Black! Hey, Owen Wilson! Jannie! Troy and Abed syncing! lol@Britta!
I think the real measure will be the ratings next week, but I'm really excited to see it up, and I hope it sticks. It was up by 10% tonight -- that's just awesome!
