I liked a lot of the gags (and Jeff's arms), but I feel like it needed a bit more heart? I'm really happy we got to see more of Britta and Shirley tho!! I missed them so much :(
Yeah, I think when it comes to Chang things get a bit overly silly and so the heart of the show kind of gets lost a bit. It's like we need more balance.
1) You know you've made it in showbiz when your body parts get their own showcase #Jeffsarms
2) I want more Jeff/Shirley. That's an amazing interaction that doesn't get explored enough :(
3) On that respect, I miss Jeff and Britta hanging out and being terrible people :( (I've been rewatching season 1 with my mom...). I loved exploring Britta and her relationship with Abed and Troy tho :D
I miss Jeff and Britta hanging out and being terrible people LOL. But I did enjoy the glimpse of Terrible Jeff and Shirley (!) in this episode. They were so delightfully amoral talking up putting Chang away for 20 years.
I really enjoyed the hell out of this ep -- it's always fun to see a different dynamic in the group, in this case Abed/Troy/Britta. And ENVER GJOKAJ! Hilarious. Plus the scene of them making up was nice; I do feel like the show and other characters have been mocking Britta pretty hard lately.
Andre is growing on me, I have to say. I haven't been happy about the Shirley/Chang pregnancy twist but I liked the direction of it in this ep.
Is it sad I knew those weren't Shirley's kids from the Family Day episode right away? And I was glad they didn't just recast them?
I was too distracted by Jeff's weird hair to notice his arms. :-/ And those nipple guards, oh my god.
Edit: I wasn't crazy about the tag -- I get the idea of it but it didn't have any real payoff. But I did love the ensemble together at the Racially Conscious Baby Shower at the beginning.
The tag was a worthy and funny commentary, but it doesn't work with this group, because we've seen them for two seasons now, and they talk to each other plenty.
I knew immediately too that those weren't the original actors for Shirley's kids. And then I was like "Noooo! Why did the recast? Those two boys were so adorable." But then I LOLed at the reveal that it wasn't her kids. And at the fact that Jeff didn't notice either.
Question: Why was Pierce using a calculator in the tag? LOL I remember he used to have a small laptop with him in the beginning of season 1. Where did that go? xD
Unless I didn't get it at all, I thought it was a commentary on age and technology. As in "He's so old, he still uses those giant-ass calculators." At least it's a device he can actually use properly, unlike when he's punching random buttons and yelling at his phone (although hilarious)
Haha yeah that was the joke. Even with a calculator he was still pressing the buttons at random. It's like, Pierce is so old he doesn't even know how to use a calculator either. LOL
