Showing my Britta bias but I really loved the Britta/Jeff/Pierce interaction this ep. I still think the maneuverings to get to the plot was awkward (like Jeff pointed out she had a cat she named Susie B!) but I liked where it ended up going with Britta being too stubborn to admit her mistake and Pierce actually supporting her false bravado (he so would, especially if it was at Jeff's expense). The end text was sweet.

I was less into the Abed/Shirley/Annie storyline. Although I did like that Annie thinks Abed's ideal match is a manic pixie dream girl who chases bubbles and speaks into balloons. And does anyone know who the actress who played Rachel is? It's driving me crazy, I can't tell if I've actually seen her in something before or if she just has one of those generic faces that makes you think you've seen her in stuff before.

Brie Larson was the actress (she is also a singer) who played Rachel.

Okay, that's the freakiest thing, I was just on ONTD complaining that Brie Larson was all wrong for the part she was cast in in The Spectacular Now when I read this response. I was literally just looking at pictures of her and didn't realize who she was. O_o

I think that it may be that her face looked a bit different, like she has gain a few pounds, not sure.

She really is a talented young actress, haven't seen her since Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

I just watched again on Hulu and am disappointed we didn't get the tag live. "Just sing the damn song" was the only thing I laughed at during this episode.

This is the only episode this season I just didn't like. Everything felt forced. Abed's story was ok. Brie Larson was cute and charming, but her and Abed paired together lacked both sweetness and the spark Abed had previously with the FBI agent.

Britta's name mix up and the concept that everyone at Greendale seemed to know who Sophi B Hawkins is both were too contrived. Britta's decision to stick by her mistake is in line with the traits of season 3 Britta. Unfortunately, I prefer earlier Britta and am not really a fan of this version of Britta, so I found it frustrating to watch.

Jeff's text message at the end just didn't have any impact. Probably because it reminded me of the Valentine's day episode that ended similarly but had a much stronger story and more genuine emotional arc.

Annie and Shirley's performances were amusing, but they barely had any part in the story.

I was not a big fan of this episode. I'm primarily a Britta fan, and I am glad she was able to be happy in the end, but I wish she would've been shown to have been right herself and without the help of Pierce. However, I did like the development that Pierce got and that he was the push to make Jeff see that he's really mean to her a lot. I wish Jeff had actually said what he texted and I wish he would have done it in front of the group. That would've been a more respectable and genuine way to do it, but the writers are trying to go more romancey with J/B. That's why they made it this private text, so that it's something only shared between them. *commence googly eyes ( ... )
