I love crosswords (Annie and I have that in common) And I love Community so I made a Community crossword!
I won't pretend this is a great puzzle--there are way too many black squares and there's more "crosswordese" than I'd normally like to see--but I think it's a bit of all right. And since there's no new new episode tonight, can you really claim to have anything better to do? I tried to keep the clues on the easier side, so even if you don't do crosswords regularly (or ever) I think most people will be able to get through it. That we all love Community proves we're pretty smart, right?
For those of you who like to solve crosswords on your computer, I've made it available in both of the most common electronic formats. (An aside: I put together the XML file underlying the electronic versions by hand, and if you think it's fun to pore over a 19,000-character text file looking for the tiny handful of missing angle brackets and quotation marks that were preventing it from compiling, I would like to disabuse you of that notion.) I also have it as a PDF, so you can print it out and solve on paper. I recommend the .JPZ version, if only because that format allowed me to include a little thematic bonus upon completing the puzzle.
Just for fun, I will send a silly trinket of some sort to one person who completes the puzzle. Just post a screenshot or scanned image of your puzzle, and I'll figuratively pull a name out of a hat. (In truth, random.org or the RAND() function in Excel will be used.) Deadline is one week from today, October 27 at 8:00 AM Central.
