ANTONIN DOLOHOV: 19 November, 1939

Ilya!

Oh, I do miss you. Your letters never fail to cheer me up. Especially at the moment, I’m in detention every night for ever for the next month or more and I’ll need all the distractions I can get from the horrible things they make us go do but the look on that Hufflepuff's face was worth it.

*rather shocked*
I don't think my father should have been friends with you at all, Mr. Dolohov. It doesn't sound an at all clever thing to do!

=smiles widely= Oh, but it was partly your father's idea, Rabastan.

I doubt that. Daddy was a good man! He would never have done something like that. I'd blame your bad influence.

But you were not there, Rabastan. And I can not possibly take all the credit.

Do you think it is impossible for a man to be good and have fun at the same time? Or perhaps you just do not know how your father as he used to be, only what he became? A pity. He used to be much more entertaining before he settled down.

*delighted laugh*

That's sounds wonderful! I would have loved seeing the look on the Hufflepuffs face!

I'm sorry you got a detention though.

=smiles and bows low= I am glad you found it amusing, my dear lady. And detention? It is a small price. There are much worse things, after all. It is a pity though that we never got to introduce Deman to his playmate.

*tsks sadly*

Such a shame. All that hard work for nothing. Perhaps you'll be able to do it again sometime.

*swoons over Antonin's icon*

Perhaps it would have worked another time, but where is the challange in something that you have already done?

He is a little handsome, in the right light...

Why ever would you want to have a bear as a pet? Apart from for scaring Hufflepuffs, which I'm sure doesn't require filthy animals.

Which proves just how little you really know about bears, does it not, Master Black?

I know enough not to want to keep one as a pet. Why would I wish to know any more than that?

=he sits back, fingers folding together and a shark's smile set on his face= I suppose there is truth in the old saying then "ignorance is bliss"?

Are you good with animals then, Dolohov?

I would like to think of myself as such, yes. But I have never had an animal tell me what it really thinks of me as yet. Then again, Bears are slightly different to other animals.

Got a thing about bears, have you? Why's that? What's so special about bears?

Bears are one of the animals of my family's crest. The Bear and the Wolf. They are proud animals, Master Potter.

Thank you very much. It was a pity we were never able to pull it off fully.
