Nepeta laments not having a fetch modus that she can draw on, like her tablet. Jade has a pictionary fetch modus. Nepeta seems to be associated with Jade: they're both furries, and they are both associated with similar shades of green.

Our first glimpse of Kanaya shows her happily wielding her chainsaw. A couple panels later, we are graced with a view of her hive, which is decked out in extremely colorful banners. The planets that serve as Sburb players' home bases are unique to each player, and related to the nature of the player as well as their role in their session. It's time to break that shit down.

I'm going to do one of these for the alpha kids and the trolls as well, but this is where I'm starting.

This panel shows the fourth wall that Jade's Grandpa stole from B1 Jack Noir's office. This is the wall Jade will later use to escape the Scratch with John.

So I have quite a few notes about the chunk of narrative where John locks onto the four kids' guardians in order to create their paradox clones, so I'm going to hit them all in one post for efficiency's sake. The Dreambot is an interesting thing, especially because Jade is not the only character in this story to possess a robotic double.

Jack Noir is seen here in his "CUBICLE OF VIGILANCE" which is made out of "FENESTRATED WALLS." It's no coincidence the "FOURTH WALL" was stolen--the idea of a "fourth wall" is a concept from fictional works, which represents the space between the characters and the audience. At first I just found this panel funny because we all know how much Jake likes blue ladies. But this gave me pause:

"Jade, study hard and keep your rifle at the ready. When adventure summons, I know you will rise to the task and take your rightful place among the DAUGHTERS OF ECLECTICA."

I don't know what to make of it but it struck me as

Jade: Examine magic 8-ball and magic cue ball.

Although Jade thinks the 8-ball is "stupid and useless," she asked it if it was John's birthday and it answered "not exactly." That's actually... well.
