I just got back from the Institut Français, where I was tested and interviewed; they placed me in the intermediaire intensive course that starts in two weeks. That's three hours a day for two weeks, which I'm planning on treating like a full immersion by only reading stuff in french, watching french films, etc, during that period. The Institut is
