What's doubly strange is that the couple were straight and polish (nothing against the polish, but they are notoriously homophobic). They must have taken it for the amusement factor.

Bad Lashes wuz robbed; not only do they have a cool name, I thought they did really well, and I cannot understand how Scott didn't go home; he was rubbish!

I love Diana, and think she'd be great in the Indie/Folk scene, but I suspect she's not mainstream enough to go very far in the X Factor. I think Laura could do really wel though; she's very sweet and charming, nd she's got a great voice. Rachel is amazing, and she's got the sympathy vote, but she might manage to be too obnoxious to stay. Ruth is a bit cruise liner. Austin is pretty, and rather Shane Ward-esque, which will play in his favour ut I'm not sure he's a good enough singer to win. I reckon TSL (or whatever their name is) have a shot, but bands generally don't win, so I think Alexandra is probably leading the race at the moment.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Diana! I quite liked her too. I think she's going for that Kate Nash thing, but I think she's got the potential to really come across as unique.

Scott was completely rubbish and totally out of his depth! Same with Daniel, who really shouldn't be there. They'd both do well in a pub karaoke competition but they'd never make the type of recording artist that the show goes for. Crying seems to be the way for getting the audience to keep you in. ;-)

We should watch X Factor together. :-D

Daniel gets the weepy vote for having a dead wife, and the Lady-of-a-certain-age vote for seeming like a nice man and a good dad, so I can see why he's in it (although I don't think he'll stay very long) but Scott was really pants, and not just because the song choice was wrong; he was weak and lacking in charisma.

Come over next Saturday; I'll make popcorn! :-)

By the way, where were you last night?? You were missed! Are you still up for a trek to the wilds of Walthamstow on Friday?

I thought I wouldn't be missed since I'd been to the previous housewarming! ;-)

Yes, still want to visit Walthamstow this Friday. Hope you've got an itinerary planned.

Should we send out invites, or do you want a cosy night with just Kev and I?

Yes, invite other people - who would you like to invite? I've not got a lot of spare time this week so I will leave it up to you! As for an itinerary - I thought we could take a walk up to the churchyard (you know the one) and see the nearby cottages (proof that it is a village, you see) then get dinner at either The Village (pub) or one of the restaurants, depending on finances, and then finish at the Nag's Head, which is a pub that sells an exciting range of beers and has leopard print tablecloths. Sound ok?

Kevin buzzed all around my head but left the top uncut. So now it's falling forward in front of my eyes. It needs a lot of bedhead product to keep its messiness properly "messy" but I like it! I think I want to go eventually for a 40s type of swept back kinda look. :-P

Hope you had a good weekend!
