Motherfawking Night

  • There was a HUGE fireworks display right next door, at Victoria Park.
  • It sounded like Americans decided to bomb the park and our apartment, plus the whole neighbourhood, got covered with smoke.
  • The alarms of neighbourhood cars sprung to life.
  • We are not at the park because Kevin is still sick.
  • I can see amusement park attractions glowing above ( Read more... )

still ill, high rising, london, golden lights, the flames rose to her roman nose

I saw those fireworks from the train home. I would have been there if sodding work had given me the day off. Got to see the ones at Alexandra Palace yesterday instead.

In the five years I've lived in London, I don't remember seeing so many fireworks. Have the prices of firecrackers gone down, or something?

We were there - on the way we wondered if you'd be there, not that we'd have spotted you in the massive crowd. They had a play rather than a guy fawkes thing which was different.

Did you go on any of the rides? I can see one from my balcony which looks like a giant pen, full of lights, turning around like a mill.

Nah we didn't take any money, we just wanted to see the fireworks.

It was incredibly crowded there, I'm surprised they got away with it, it took about 20 minutes to get to the exit. And of course they hadn't closed the roads there so traffic was piled up for ages.

The pub on the corner opposite the entrance used to be an organic one but seems not to be any more :(

I saw the line of stuck cars from our kitchen window. Messy.

I haven't been to that pub yet. There's another one, at the northwest corner (where Grove Road leaves the park), which looks like a nice place for a sunday lunch. During the summer, you'd see a nice mix of people sitting outdoors. There's also a great cafe nearby -- Elbow Cafe -- which is nice play to sit and people watch.

but it's not what you said and words are powerful! *hands on hips*

This morning Yahoo! has this article on eugenics like it's some new-fangled idea. I wonder if it's b/c the elections are coming up.

Everything looks suspicious to me, including Saddam's death sentence just two days before the election.
