SO I'll be visiting your fair city in early september to see if I want to move there. Any suggestions on what I should check out?

my favorite place in all of Portland is the Japanese Garden. it is considered one of the finest japanese gardens outside of Japan. no one should miss out if they are going to be in Portland. coincidentally, it's also right next to the famous Portland Rose Gardens, which is nice and spacious - great for stolling around and smelling all the great scents.

visiting the enormous Powell's City of Books downtown is also quite fun. it takes up entire city block, and has four different levels inside. i believe it is the largest independant bookstore in the country, certainly the largest bookstore i've ever been to (and i love books, so i've been to many).

if you like hiking, and/or nature, Forest Park is just 15 or so minutes away from downtown and is the largest forested city park in the United States. absolutely beautiful.

does that help? what sort of other things would you be looking to check out?

I got Spank Rock and The Knife, Lemongrass is STILL bloody downloading ;)

Haven't had a chance to listen to much, that should be remedied on our road trip to Seattle in two days. ^-^

Plus, I've been sonically obsessed with the Gnarls Barkley album St. Elsewhere. I can't stop listening to it -- it's great stuff!
