oh god! so amazing & totally worth the EPIC wait. perfect way to end it, I might add. so many good things! but I'll need to reread it from the start to have cohesive thoughts again. just! <3. really. I am so glad you stuck w/ it to finish this. Crazy Roof Guy.. *smiles* I love it.
AHHHH! This is so epic. I've read through the whole thing and it's FANTASTIC. One little thing to nit-pick:
"Exactly - we followed all the rules. Don't swear, don't eat fish on Sunday, keep family business within the family."
Being raised Roman Catholic myself, it's don't eat meat on Friday- on Friday you're only allowed to eat fish. :D
Characterization is wonderful, I love silent Castiel and Dean just getting each other, GUSH GUSH GUUUUSH! Off to read the epilogue- so sad it's ending!
Big Awwwwwww for this section. I was 'awwwing' all over the place what with the whole domestic scene when they rescued Sam from a crying Mary and a lack of dinner; protective, worried Dean preparing to take on six guys to keep Cas safe; Jo being pleasant, even letting herself start to like Dean; Gabe turning up and telling the rest of the tale from Cas' past (looks like I was right about there being so much more)... not to mention letting Sam's secret out of the bag. Ooops! Still, that seems to have turned out well :). Looks like Dean will get the chance at a reunion with the Impala, too. I'm also hoping Cas might start to feel safe enough to start talking again.
This is beautiful. I loved the whole metaphor of the Impala and Dean's life. And Castiel's childhood story... wow, I was scared, like, seriously. It had been a long while since the last time a story really got to me like this one did. I even cried a little here and there while reading.
Being raised a Catholic myself, I was kinda surprised about the whole 'not eating meat on Fridays' thing. We don't follow that costume here in Mexico. I mean, I went to a Catholic school and I really never heard that one before. Guess it changes from place to place. We're light Catholics ;)
Great story. Thank you for writing it! I'm off to read the epilogue! n_n
