Monday: Triptych

It wasn't a complicated life that they had. Kara had been the start - she left (got kicked out of) the Navy, and went on the road with the intention of getting drunk in as many states as possible. Then she ran into some hunters, fought off a vampire, and realised she'd found something better. She met Sam after a while, and a couple of years later the two of them were working a case and ran into a man named Leoben who claimed to be a prophet. He stuck around, and it was the three of them in a beat-up old van, hunting things and saving people.

The combination shouldn't have worked on paper, Kara being too fierce and Leoben too focused on the metaphysical, but somehow it did. They became closer than any of them thought they could become, and their names became legend in the dark alleys and seedy bars that hunters frequented.
